Logan man arrested after shot fired at 71yo man

A Regents Park man, aged 30, is being held by police following an alleged home invasion which saw a 71-year-old man shot at and injured

Police allege two men arrived at the Ripley residence at around 1.25pm on 2 December in a white Mitsubishi Magna and a blue motorcycle.

The men allegedly “entered the house” before being “challenged” by a 71-year-old man inside.

One of the intruders pulled out a gun and fired it “in the direction of the victim who was not struck”, police allege.

“The confrontation has continued, and the elderly man was allegedly physically assaulted,” police said in a statement.

The men then fled the scene in the car and on the motorcycle.

The elderly man was taken to hospital where he was treated for an arm injury.

Later that day around 4pm, police arrested and charged a 27-year-old man from Bundamba over the incident.

Today, police revealed they arrested a 30-year-old Regents Park man and charged him with enter dwelling and commit, acts intend to maim.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 5 December.

Investigators continue to appeal to anyone with information that could assist investigations and have yet to speak to police to come forward.
