Logan Fun Run marks 10 years with record crowd

More than 500 runners and walkers helped mark the 10th anniversary of the Griffith Sport Logan Fun Run presented by Ray White AKG, with this year’s event the biggest in its history.

The Meadowbrook event was held at Griffith University’s Logan campus on Sunday 31 May, with participants taking on the 2km Colour Fun Run, 5km and 10km courses.

A Ray White AKG representative, Kaylea, said the agency was proud to support the event for a third year.

“It was a great morning, we loved getting all the community together for a great morning walking, running or whatever you choose to do,” she said.

“We can’t wait to be back next year.”

The event has raised more than $5000 for Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, with fundraising still open.

Event organisers said 31 teams took part this year, with runners, walkers, schools, families and community groups joining the anniversary event.

The course took participants through Griffith University Logan and Riverdale Park, with organisers describing it as a cross-country challenge across dirt, grass, gravel and asphalt.

Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland was the official charity partner, with funds going towards support programs for families who need to stay close to hospital while a child receives healthcare.

The 2026 fundraising goal was $10,000, to help adopt a room at Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Herston for a year.

The event precinct included Brisbane Heat cricket skills, a Meadowbrook Golf Club activation, a Mobile Police Beat, and LSKD and Brooks pop-up stores.

A golden ticket hidden in the precinct also gave one participant a 12-month membership at Meadowbrook Golf Club.

Epic Medals was on site to engrave race times onto 10-year “Spinney” medals, with proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland.

Ashley-Elizabeth Lutwyche was named best dressed, with Cr Tony Hall presenting the LSKD prize.

Ms Lutwyche attended the event with her support worker and said she had “an amazing time”.

She said the event was welcoming and inclusive for people with additional needs, and she wanted to return next year after having “so much fun”.

Ms Lutwyche said she hoped to show the community that people with autism could take part in events like the fun run, and that they could be “a lot of fun” in a friendly environment.
