In 250 words or less, tell us about yourself and your community attributes.

I was elected to Logan City Council in 2020 as a local independent representing the people of Division 6 (Meadowbrook, Loganlea, Bethania, Edens Landing, Holmview and Bahrs Scrub). Formerly, I was an award winning real estate agent and manager, I and have worked for an office in the Western Australian State Government but spent most of my youth traveling Australia as a trapeze artist and truck driver working in my family’s circus (The Great Australian Circus).

Why should people vote for you?

I have a proven track record of working hard to get things done. Many of the projects completed during my term had been projects that were promised to the community by past elected members but never delivered. This includes major intersection upgrades like Church & Station Road, road widening like Radke Rd, park upgrades like Grove Road Reserve dog park and the $1.8m clubhouse for the Waterford Demons who were promised a new clubhouse almost 18 years ago. There is no such thing as coincidence when it comes to such large projects being delivered during a councillors term, they happen when the right people work hard to make them happen.

I am a true independent, meaning I have no current or past political affiliations so the only people I represent are the ones that live in my electorate and not in Canberra. This means I can also work with both State and Federal elected members unbiasedly which I have done so often to help get both State and Federal funds into local projects which saves our rate payers from paying for them. This can be seen in projects like the Loganlea Road upgrade $80m and the Healthy Streets Project in Meadowbrook and Loganlea $5.4m.

As a councillor I have always advocated for my residents. No matter how big or small their matter might be, I will always do my best to help.

What would you aim to deliver for your community?

I have always advocated for council to do the job its paid to do as its first priority. Our roads and infrastructure need to be fixed and maintained, the grass needs to be cut and bins need to be emptied. When you get that right you end up with a sensible budget and conservative rates. I feel this is very important given the cost of living is becoming more and more expensive for families.

I will continue to enhance the liveability of Division 6 by making it safer, cleaner and more enjoyable. I have worked with local QLD Police to install video cameras across the division. When and where I can, I try to involve the community in part of the decision making of projects in their area. A good example of this is the Dinosaur themed playground at Riverdale Park whose $2.65m upgrade and theme was decided on by the Local students at Loganlea State High School.

I will continue to host community consultations and let residents have a voice and a say on ongoing projects in our area.

Why did you decide to run for council?

I decided to run for Council to help my community and to respect the wishes of my late father Warren Hall who passed away in 2019.

What suburb do you live in?

Loganlea

How long have you been in the area?

Three generations of my family live in Logan. We purchased a property here back in 1995 so it has been our home base for almost 30 years.

  1. Hi Tony
I am a local of Bethania and a law abiding gun owner if you submit to the panic of the moment to reduce the firearms owned by law abiding citizens who belong to clubs to further there expertise in competitions and the responsible use of long arms It would be a Shame QLD has a good Gun Law as far as fire arm position on fire arm ownership . I have safes and follow all the rules laide out by weapons licensing QLD. The problem is not Guns but the people who use the for attacks like last week why did ASIO not remove his weapons if the knew his son was a terrorist I cant understand that. best regards and have a good Xmas
