Those responsible for selling lifestyle community housing are getting more creative by the month as they determine ways to get ahead of the pack.
Seasons at Waterford West is offering a “try before you buy” option – allowing seniors to give community living a go before they take the plunge and invest big money.
Ingenia Gardens at Marsden is an independent seniors rental community and is offering a month of free rent.
Living Gems at Logan Village will pay household electricity, home insurance and water charges for 12 months.
And Halcyon at Logan Reserve will have its own Tesla as a shared car, ready for homeowners to book for errands and daytrips.
Halcyon Rise is the second of the company’s communities to have a Tesla.
It’s a competitive market with more than 10 communities in the Logan area selling new homes to over 50s.
It would seem wise to shop around when looking for the best deal, although prices can differ.
Ingenia Lifestyle Chambers Pines recently won a Property Council of Australia award for “Best Affordable Housing Development”. There are homes for sale at less than $200,000 within the development.
“The land lease model operates on the basis of offering an alternative and affordable retirement opportunity,” a company representative said.
Halcyon project director Glenn Nugent said having a community car will be beneficial to homeowners who may want to sell their car when they move in.
“For couples who have two cars, this is a great opportunity to be able to sell one and use the Tesla for those times they may need an extra car,” he said. “This will save them a massive amount of money in running two cars as well as being able to experience driving a Tesla, which is pretty cool.”
The Tesla Model 3 goes from 0-100km per hour in 3.4 seconds and can go 620km anywhere on a single battery charge.
The All-Wheel Drive has two independent motors for improved redundancy, each with only one moving part for minimal maintenance and maximum durability. Unlike traditional all-wheel drive systems, they digitally control torque to the front and rear wheels for far better handling and traction control.
The first residents are expected to move into Halcyon Rise early next year.
The community community overlooks 100 acres of parklands and is nestled alongside the Logan River.
