60 jobs as KFC opens at Bethania

The oil has heated up at a new Kentucky Fried Chicken store which opened at Bethania on Saturday.

The store is on Logan River Road and has been equipped with some modern technology.

They include state-of-the-art digital menu boards and a speedy drive thru service designed to offer a seamless customer experience.

Not known for its healthy options, the store will bring 60 new jobs to the area.

“These new jobs will give young people in the team the opportunity to develop new skills in customer service and team work, as well as boost self-confidence, ultimately providing young Australians with the life skills they need to succeed, both in and beyond their career at KFC,” a statement from the organisation said.

Chantel Mathison will be heading up the team as Restaurant General Manager overseeing the day-to-day running of the new restaurant and operations.

Ms Mathison has more than seven years’ experience at the chicken store under her belt, having worked her way up the ladder in the business.

She brings an understanding of how the business operates and its training programs for upskilling team members.

“Bethania is a small Queensland community with a big love for the Colonel’s secret herbs and spices,” she said.

“Collins Foods and KFC have really fun and engaging training systems that cater to the many different levels of employees within the business, helping us to all grow and succeed in and beyond our role at KFC – this is something I am extremely proud of.

“I am excited to use my skills to provide the new team with the coaching they need to deliver both a great customer experience and achieve a positive personal development journey.

“The new team have been training behind the scenes in the lead up the opening and cannot wait to get the restaurant in full swing to provide the best customer experience for the locals of Bethania.”

Ms Mathison will be supported by assistant manager Aidan llic, who also brings more than seven years of experience, coming from a supervisor role at Ormeau.
