Jessica and Daniel Ingham moved to their home in Edens Landing for a “taste of rural life”.
They said the home was a rural pocket in the middle of suburbia.
“It just feels so rural here,” she said.
“Especially out the back with the views.”
But now Mrs Ingham said they are ready to fully commit to rural life, so they’ve put the property on the market and are heading to Jimboomba.
She said selling was a bittersweet feeling.
“We’ve got so many memories here,” Mrs Ingham said.
“We’ve had weddings here and engagement parties… so there’s memories for our friends as well.
“Everyone is shocked we’re selling… but we want more space and more land… and I work out at Jimboomba.”
The house is on a 1490 square-metre block, which Ms Ingham said was perfect for her family.
“We’re always outside and we like to entertain,” she said.
“My husband likes to do rotisserie spits, and we have people over, swimming in the pool and we go up the back and sit around the fire pit.”
Mr Ingham said the perfect buyer would be similar to hers – one that enjoys entertaining.
“It would be great for families that like to entertain outside, whether it’s barbeques, parties or weddings,” she said.
“And people who enjoy listening to the birds.
“There are so many big gum trees around, and if you come out in the morning, all you can hear are the birds.
She said the morning was her favourite time.
“We’ve loved it here,” she said.
“We bought it five years ago and we’ve done quite a bit to it.
“We’ve installed brand new colourbond fences and refurbished the pool, concreted all out the back, installed all new solar, air-conditioning, we’ve painted the whole house – inside and outside – we’ve created a fire pit, a kids fort and sandpit.”
She said the kitchen had also been refurbished.
“There are all new tiles, all new benches and handles.”
One of the main factors her family would miss, she said, was the surrounding community.
“It’s a great community with great neighbours,” Ms Ingham said.
“It’s just got really good energy – everyone says so.”
Plus, supermarkets, Bunnings and public transport are only two minutes away, she said.
