Jane’s Walk Logan debut

A social, outdoor walking event set to reshape the way we view town planning is coming to Logan for the first time.

Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by urbanist Jane Jacobs, who encouraged people to share neighbourhood stories, discover unseen parts of communities, and connect with one another.

Jane’s Walks take place in hundreds of cities around the world, – and the first one in Logan is happening on Sunday 2 June.

The group, led by Queensland Walks, will walk at Meadowbrook, through the Loganlea Road Healthy Street and Armstrong Place.

More than $7.4 million was spent over than last four years upgrading the area, with a new health and wellness precinct, sporting spaces, artworks and pedestrian improvements.

Participants will be invited to “imagine what other key centres could benefit from a similar health and connectivity focus, where walking, riding and activity hubs are provided with priority space”.

Free tickets are available at planning.org.au/events/event/Janes-Walk-2024-healthy-streets-logan
