Poor communication and handover processes between schools and the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority were two of many factors blamed for the ancient history exam topic mix-up that year 12 students at Flagstone State Community College (FSCC) were caught up in.
An independent panel review, led by Dr Grant Webb, of the mistakes that saw nine schools teach their students the wrong exam topic, was released last month.
State education minister John-Paul Langbroek said he would instruct all relevant bodies, including the QCAA, Non-State School Accreditation Board, Queensland Catholic Education Commission and the education department, to implement the report’s findings.
A statement from Mr Langbroek’s office said every student who sat the exam passed, with a grade of C or higher, and that more than 40% of the class received an A grade.
