Highway stretch complete, Park Ridge to Munruben

A 4km stretch of highway from Park Ridge to Munruben has been finished, now widened from two lanes to four.

The long-awaited upgrade, set to open early February, allows more cars to flow between Stoney Camp Road and Chambers Flat Road.

The $75 million stretch of road is part of a broader 10-year upgrade to the Mount Lindesay Highway.

The same stretch includes two bridges over Norris Creek, safety and noise barriers, and a modified exit ramp at Stoney Camp Road.

New rope crossings were built for wildlife.

More than $180 million has so far been invested into the project, including a $2m Millstream Road intersection (2015), $27.5m Beaudesert Town Centre Bypass (2017), $20m North Maclean safety improvements (2019), $22.4m Rosia Road to Stoney Camp Road (2020), $14m South Maclean safety improvements (2020), $19.6m Camp Cable Road to Johanna Street, Jimboomba (2020), and $17.13m Jimboomba to Beaudesert safety improvements.

Planning is also funded or underway on Logan Motorway to Park Ridge Road (including Green Road/Coronation Road interchange), Greenbank Road to Stockleigh Road, Chambers Flat Road to Greenbank Road, Stockleigh Road to Camp Cable Road, Johanna Street to South Street (Jimboomba) and South Street to Cedar Vale Road.

Member for Logan Linus Power said the upgrade was a key milestone.

“We have completed eight of the 17 projects on the plan and will keep pressing on to ensure this pipeline of works continues to get locals and visitors home sooner and safer to enjoy their great lifestyle,” he said.

“The pipeline of safety works also translates to long-term security of good jobs for local and Queensland companies.”
