High flying views – balloon bliss

As the third highest-elevated block in Flagstone, 47-649 Silverwood Drive is the perfect spot to wake up early, eat breakfast and bask in the morning sun.

Owners Eva and Rob have enjoyed the pole position to watch hot air balloons floating along the hinterland.

“It’s one of the most incredible features of the property,” Eva said.

“The home is perfectly situated – if you look through the front doors, the two gum trees in the neighbour’s yard perfectly frame the face of Mount French.

“That is what I look forward to first thing in the mornings.”

Eva and Rob bought the 2000sqm property in 2015.

From the moment they walked in, they were in love.

“It’s a pretty spectacular home,” Eva said.

“Garage space and a large-sized block were important for us when we were looking.

“There were just so many incredible features here: the grand entry as you walk through the property, the kitchen with some great features, and I was definitely sold on the master suite.”

She said the property was the perfect space to pursue one’s hobbies.

“The garden is low maintenance and very easy,” Eva said.

“I have always wanted to put a veggie patch, so ever since Covid I’ve been able to upkeep that, and now we’ve got chickens.”

For Eva, safety is paramount.

“The property has security and fencing – I’ve never felt unsafe there before,” she said.

“My husband custom-built the 6-foot, solar powered steel fence at the front.

“And the all neighbours look out for one-another.”

Eva said she was “blessed with incredible neighbours”.

It’s so quiet, everyone looks out for one another, and when we see each other – on the street mowing or through the fence – we always have our little chitchats,” she said.

“Everyone generally keeps to themselves, and we feel incredibly safe there.”

But now it’s time for the couple to downsize, so they’ve put their home on the market.

“It’s so bittersweet to leave, because it’s an incredibly beautiful home, and with people’s reactions to the property, it makes me feel so happy to be able to own such a gorgeous home,” Eva said.

“But also, so happy for someone else to be in there too.

“It’s such a shame to have a such big property for only two people – it would be so much more enjoyable for a big family to be in there and fill it with lots of love and laughter.”
