Nine high-crash intersections across the city have been proposed for safety upgrades through the Black Spot program.
The Black Spot program is an initiative funded by the federal government that aims to reduce the risk of crashes at dangerous “black spots”
Several million dollars of past Black Spot funding has gone towards upgrading dangerous roads across the city, including at Eagleby, Browns Plains, Buccan, Crestmead, Mundoolun, and more.
Logan City Council’s road infrastructure planning team has proposed the council seek more funding to improve the following roads:
- Ewing Road and Defiance Road, Woodridge;
- Fedrick Street and Mountt Lindesay Highway Service Road, Boronia Heights;
- Johnson Road and Woogaroo Street, Greenbank;
- Logan Reserve Road and Mark Lane, Waterford West;
- Macarthy Road and Third Avenue, Crestmead;
- Queens Road and Meakin Road, Kingston;
- Riverhills Road and Fryar Road, Eagleby;
- Wuraga Road (near refuse station), Beenleigh;
- Yarrabilba Drive and Summerview Avenue, Yarrabilba.
