Green guardians unite in plogging

Logan City Council’s Active & Healthy program has added a new activity for fitness-enthusiasts and green-guardians.

Council’s program now features ‘plogging’ sessions, an activity that involves ‘jogging’ while ‘picking up’ litter.

Social enterprise WorkEco’s Sameer Pund will lead the sessions, which will run every Wednesday starting tomorrow (12 July) until 6 December.

The sessions will kick-off at Logan River Parklands in Beenleigh from 5.30pm until 6.30pm.

Mr Punde said it was important that people did more for the environment, and he’d personally partaken in numerous beach and river clean-ups and run bushwalking.

The Active & Healthy program includes more than 200 free and low-cost physical activity, health and wellbeing activities for all ages.
