Local charity, Merciful Servants, will be the recipient of a CommBank Flood Relief Fund.
During the February floods, Merciful Servants invested in pressure washers to help with the clean up.
The grant will help pay for them and sustain their ongoing use.
Nikki Walker and Elizabeth Staley from CommBank Browns Plains Branch, visited Merciful Servants and learned more about how they support the local community on an ongoing basis.
They were able to volunteer during their hot meal service, where they provide meal support to those in need.
Ms Walker is Browns Plains branch manager and said the bank focused on directing community funding to community organisations to help with recovery efforts.
“We know the community is still feeling the devastating effects of losing homes and businesses in the floods. Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by these heart breaking scenes the nation witnessed not so long ago,” she said.
“Flood-impacted community organisations have been able to access up to $10,000 in CommBank grant funding to assist them with clean-up, rebuild and recovery and we are now focused on getting this money to them as quickly as possible.”
