Generations united – dual living is the answer

Multi-generational living has been pitched as the saviour of our housing crisis, and 19 William Close at Park Ridge is a perfect example.

Sales agent Brendan Dingle said the property was one of a kind, containing two two-storey dwellings on the one property.

The street-facing and larger house is just four-months-old and the back house is two-years-old – both were built by the current owner.

“Its a duel auxiliary block, meaning you can build two legal dwellings on it,” Mr Dingle said.

“The back house is fully sustainable –  it has its own laundry and its own kitchen – it is its own little house, and you can fence it off and legally have it as two addresses.

“There are duplexes in Park Ridge, but I don’t think I have seen anything like this in Logan, so having something like this in our corridor is pretty exciting.”

He said there has been plenty of interest in the property, especially from investors, but he said it would suit an owner-occupier with a family.

“The whole street is about 90 per cent owner-occupied,” Mr Dingle said

“A lot of investors have inquired, but due to the nature and the quality of the home, a lot of owner occupiers have taken the lead in regard to potentially purchasing the property.

“A lot of interest comes from families that have teenage kids – having the laundry and kitchen in the back property can give the kids a little step into the future as they enter adulthood.”

The two dwellings sit on a 465sqm, fenced block.

The first dwelling contains five bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a double garage with a smart car charging-station.

The second has two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom and laundry.

Mr Dingle said the property is located in a family-friendly cul-de-sac that is close to Park Ridge Town Centre.

“It’s very quiet, little area,” he said.

“It’s in a very good position, backing onto a nature reserve.

“I’ve fallen in love with it myself, actually.”
