Residents at Infinite Care Cornubia have joined a nationwide Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day by inviting families, playgroups, kindergarten and school aged children to join their residence for bear-based activities and festivities.
Infinite Care Cornubia went all out to bring their communities together.
Many attendees entered their favourite teddy bears into various competitions which included prizes of over 170 hand-knitted mini-bears donated by crafty residents and volunteers.
The event aimed to build on intergenerational relationships and initiatives which bring children together with the elderly in a bid to reduce loneliness and isolation.
It is now set to become an annual event.
“Bringing our community together in such a unique way, both within our homes and across our organisation, continues to provide a sense of belonging and unity for our team, residents and extended family,” managing director Chris Stride said.
“After being so affected by Covid and lockdowns over the last three years we are all so pleased to see our homes filled with children and families as it means so much to our residents and their sense of wellbeing.”
