The full frontage of Springwood Mall is now in its final stages of being built.
Unchanged since it was first opened in 1986 until this redevelopment, Springwood Mall’s frontage is now totally
consumed by construction.
The new eastern entry, a new alfresco dining precinct and new commercial offices are all being built, along with an undercroft car park and new direct-to-boot facility at Woolworths.
The existing car park has been reduced heavily in size, causing the need to move disability car spaces to the western entry ramp.
Marketing manager Donna O’Neill said this was done after customers provided suggestions for a more workable temporary solution while the $16 million redevelopment takes shape.
Visitors can currently only access the centre via the undercroft car park under Woolworths and the western entry near the NAB while final redevelopment works are underway.
Services previously at the front of Springwood Mall now have temporary new locations.
Ms O’Neill said the taxi rank and post boxes have been moved to the eastern side of the centre near Australia Post as this is the only area in which taxis can safely deliver and collect customers.
This means customers must exit the western entry at NAB and Ridge Jewellers and walk along the pedestrian path in front of the centre to reach the taxi rank.
“The front of Springwood Mall has construction across its total façade at the moment, so we have moved these essential services, changed the flow of the external car park and relocated the disability parking spots, to ensure our customers are safe and can easily navigate the changed centre conditions,” she said.
“The escalated construction is now extremely busy to deliver our customers a stunning new-look Springwood Mall.”
Woolworths, Target and all stores continue to trade as normal while the redevelopment work continues.
