Police are investigating a string of break-ins and attempted break-ins across Logan after four businesses were targeted within about an hour early Tuesday morning.
Queensland Police said a group of about four males travelled through Logan in a blue Kia Sorento that had been stolen from Gordon Park the previous day.
About 2.45am on Tuesday 11 August, the group allegedly smashed the glass doors of a liquor store on Sambit Street at Tanah Merah, damaged the premises and stole alcohol and cigarettes.
About 3.20am, four males allegedly tried unsuccessfully to force their way into a supermarket on Kingston Road at Waterford West.
Officers attending the scene then found a tobacco shop in the same shopping complex had been broken into and tobacco stolen.
About 3.30am, the group allegedly attempted to enter a liquor store on Loganlea Road at Meadowbrook before moving to a supermarket on Chambers Flat Road at Logan Reserve.
Police conducting patrols interrupted the attempted break-in at Logan Reserve.
The group fled in the stolen Kia, which police tracked for a period before it evaded officers.
Police believe the Kia had also been involved in an earlier break-in at The Gap, where a Nissan Navara was stolen after residents interrupted a group inside a house.
No physical injuries were reported.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam, phone or CCTV footage from the affected Logan areas to come forward.
