Despite what the incumbent MP believes: The number one issue that I hear from the people of Forde is that they lack trust in our political system.
This resonates with me strongly as my life goal is to become a physician. But due to the incompetence and reported corruption of the current federal government I felt compelled to stand up for my community.
If I hold the balance of power, I will address this by demanding that both potential governments adopt TNL’s Federal ICAC policy and implement it in the first sitting of parliament to form government.
Unlike proposals from the major parties, our proposal would provide the independent body the power to investigate and prosecute corrupt politicians, and put them in jail. It will also investigate corrupt judges and bureaucrats, abuses of power, and dereliction of duty.
Further, unlike other proposals, our ICAC will have jury trials in a dedicated court. Lastly, again unlike other proposals, under our scheme an attempt to defund the ICAC would be seen as an act of corruption in of itself.
I am also fighting for Forde-centric infrastructure. The RACQ recently said that we have 5 of the worst roads in the state. That is what happens when you have an MP that is too busy blindly following his party and congratulating himself to see the struggles that our community are going through.
I will fix this in my first term in office.
I will also work to create infrastructure so that local businesses can compete with areas outside of Forde. Just drive down the main street of Beenleigh and you will see that our towns are barren. This is directly due to the neglect of our current MP and his blindness to the struggles of our local small businesses.
I will fix this.
