For the first time in my lifetime, our living standards are going backwards. People in Logan have never worked so hard for so little. Whether it’s groceries, petrol prices, housing and more, the price of everything is going up but wages aren’t.
I believe politics is about helping people. In my campaign I’ve spoken to people across our community and I know people are uncertain about the future.
After the Morrison Government extended the Medicare rebate freeze, it has become unaffordable for doctors to bulk bill. Don’t take my word on this, just go ask your GP. Labor has a plan to strengthen Medicare and make it easier to see a GP. We will invest in Medicare urgent care clinics to ensure everyone has access to a bulk billing doctor when they need one, taking pressure off hospital emergency departments at the same time.
Labor’s plan for a better future goes beyond strengthening Medicare and keeping it affordable to see a doctor.
Labor has a plan to create secure local jobs by investing in fee-free TAFE, better campuses and more university places, and a plan to make your job more secure with better pay and conditions.
We will make child-care cheaper so that it’s easier for working families to get ahead.
Labor will make more things here in Australia by working with business to invest in manufacturing to create more local jobs, close to home.
I believe in a future where no one is held back, and no one is left behind.
This election is a choice. A choice between giving a decade old government a second decade in office, or a better future under Labor. We simply can’t risk more Scott Morrison and more mistakes. That’s why I need your support to deliver a better future for our community.
