A new police taskforce targeting youth-crime hotspots has swooped into Logan.
The Youth Flying Squad teams are comprised of detectives and youth justice workers that can be deployed anywhere in Queensland to target serious repeat juvenile offenders and provide immediate support to local communities across Queensland.
Across the state, since 7 May, the flying squad teams have charged 162 young people with more than 448 offences ranging from stealing, burglary, unlawful use of motor vehicle, assault and robbery amongst others.
Of these, 105 young people have had proceedings commenced by way of diversionary measures.
These teams were previously deployed to Logan prior to formally being established. They were also deployed to Townsville, Cairns, Bowen, Dalby, Ipswich, Emerald, Laidley and Wide Bay.
