Families make transition to country

Properties in Flagstone are ideal for suburban families looking to make the jump to a rural lifestyle, offering plenty of space without sacrificing access to amenities.

Elders Jimboomba principal Renae Duff said substantial blocks with access to town water and sewerage were available right across the area, and demand was growing.

Flagstone’s 28-30 Gumview Crescent is an example.

“This place is half an acre and has town water and sewage, so it is very appealing,” Ms Duff said.

“If you are wanting to try a bigger block but don’t want to have to deal with pressure pumps and sewage systems, this sized block in Flagstone is ideal.

“If you go onto acreage and bigger, you would normally have to have your own sewage system.”

She said demand for blocks like this one – over 2000sqm – was growing.

“Not just in Flagstone but the whole Jimboomba area is sought after – people are wanting the bigger blocks.

“[Flagstone] has got everything – the new tavern, Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, the water park for the kids, an off-leash dog park, and it is an easy commute.

“You go down Teviot Road and you’re in Brisbane – everything is there.”

The house itself spans 268sqm, with five bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it “oozes street appeal”.

“It is an AB Jennings home and it is a little unique because it has a curved wall in the lounge room, it has extra high ceilings, a huge media room – this home has been built with a family in mind,” Ms Duff said.

“The high ceilings give you a fresh and inviting feel. It is a lovely home to be in.”

The property’s current owners have put the home on the market as they downsized to another block in the area.

“Their family has grown so it is just mum and dad so they are downsizing,” Ms Duff said.

She said the home was perfect for a family with two or three children, or even one with grandparents looking to move in.

“The media room could be changed to accommodate a relative,” she said.

“The thing about this place is the size of it and the very high ceilings – most houses won’t have that.”

Asking price for the Gumview Crescent block is offers over $1.06 million.

Ms Duff said prices in Flagstone were reaching that of Jimboomba.

“With the bigger blocks, it is equal to Jimboomba Woods even though it is a little older,” she said.

“It ticks all the boxes.

“It has a huge solar system, there is a pool and the big entertainment area undercover, there is double-side access to the backyard.

“It has everything except the big shed.”
