2.2 million people migrating to live in South East Queensland (MyCity Logan, 14 August)?
Either a load of bollocks or kiss our lifestyle and backside goodbye.
Let’s look at the numbers.
Currently approximately 27 million live in Australia. Five million approximately live in Queensland and approximately 3 million live in South East Queensland.
27 million – 5 million = 22 million.
10% of 22 million = 2.2 million, or one in 10 people currently living in Australia (not including Queensland) are moving here.
So 10% of current Sydney, 10% of Melbourne, Adelaide. Hobart, Perth, Northern territory and in fact, everywhere in Australia are moving here.
That’s a 24-hour gridlock traffic jam on the M1, hospital/school/ambulance/police overload that is not possible to imagine.
Firstly our Wivenhoe Dam water supply would be depleted within two years and then remain so.
Why is the state government sending out these scare campaigns? Just to grab as much control of land as possible?
If they are serious, why is our government leading us to ruin? If they are not serious, then why the scare campaign?
And – we need the Olympic Games, why? Certainly not to advertise our corner of the world.
