A private dam big enough to be used for jet skiing and family gatherings is one of many standout features of 6-8 McPherson Road at Chambers Flat.
The property, on a 4.45ha block, has undergone major renovations in the past two and a half years, homeowner Mel Grave said.
The previously single-storey dwelling has been expanded into a two-storey house designed for flexible living.
Ms Grave said the changes were shaped by her family, including two teenage children.
“We removed the roof and built a top floor,” Ms Grave said, creating a separate retreat with a bar, games area and views across the dam.
The layout now supports dual living, with distinct zones that allow for independence within the house.
Outside a pool, tennis court, and horse stables were added to support an active, outdoor lifestyle.
Ms Grave said much of their time was spent around the pool house or exploring the property, which has space for horse riding, dirt bikes and buggies.
“There’s plenty of room for dirt bike riding or horse riding,” Ms Grave said. “We have buggies that the kids can ride around on.”
Her daughter’s interest in horses led to the addition of stables, and the family now keeps four on site.
Ms Grave described the home as unique within the local Chambers Flat market, particularly due to the scale of the dam, which she estimates at about one hectare.
It has been used for fishing and water activities, including jet skiing, during family events.
“We’ve had the jet skis out in the dam,” Ms Grave said.
“Christmas Day, we’ll have a massive bunch of people over with jet skis and boats going in the dam.”
While the property offers a rural setting, it remains close to shops and services, a balance Ms Grave said was important.
Early interest has come from buyers looking for “an opulent lifestyle” with space, privacy and a higher-end lifestyle property rather than a standard suburban home.
