Logan Police have intercepted more than 375 drivers during an overnight traffic operation as part of ongoing road safety strategies for locally run Operation Own It.
From 4.30pm until 10.30pm on Friday, July 16, an operation targeting drink driving was held in Waterford involving 25 officers.
Throughout the operation, a total of:
- 375 roadside breath tests (RBTs) were conducted
- 3 roadside drug tests were conducted
Of the 375 RBTs conducted, two returned a positive roadside breath test.
At the conclusion of the operation, four drivers were charged with drink or drug driving offences and a total of 22 infringement notices were issued.
One driver, a 36-year-old Holmview man was intercepted and provided a positive roadside breath test. As a result, he was served with a notice to appear for driving with a breath alcohol reading of 0.117 and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 20.
A 26-year-old Loganlea man has been charged with drink driving (0.091) and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 16.
