In October this year, I introduced new laws into the Queensland Parliament for cheaper, cleaner and more reliable energy for your household and local business.
The laws mean we’ll invest in new energy sources that will deliver cheaper power, and it will outlaw privatisation of your assets, keeping them in your hands.
This, low emissions, publicly owned, more affordable future has the support of the Government members in the Queensland Parliament.
I’m so proud to be a product of Logan, and a Queenslander! We live in a state blessed with incredible natural resources, and whilst we’re known as the Sunshine State, it’s our people that are our greatest asset.
The Queensland Energy and Jobs laws will deliver new jobs in more industries, protect thousands of existing manufacturing and farming jobs, and lock in a secure future for our regions.
By 2032, 70 per cent of Queensland’s energy will be renewable, 80 per cent by 2035 and no reliance on burning coal.
