Cooler Novembers on the line

As November is now upon us and fans which have been idle are now being switched back on, the reality of rising temperatures is hard to ignore.

Even the prime minister realises that something has to be done.

At the last election, he was happy to see Labor being punished for its promises to cut greenhouse emissions, while stepping back from any leadership in addressing climate change.

So he hired consultants to write a policy, but once again, it is others who will have to do all the hard work.

It reminds me of the 23-year rule of the Coalition (until December 1972).

Two types of health care prevailed:  private insurance for those who could afford it, and long waits at public hospitals for rest.

The good nature of doctors to see the needy for free was also depended upon.

Many did not receive timely help.

Labor was elected and, against the odds, set up Medicare.

What a blessing, that was when my middle son was sick. Thankfully he received the best care possible.

Yes, Labor got a hiding last time, but they’ve stuck to their guns. Within six months we will vote again.

I see the choice as being between the wishy washy LNP, and a Labor Party offering , once again to lead the way to a better world for our kids, and cooler Novembers for all.

Paul Wincen,

Woodridge.
