The Kingston Butter Factory Arts and Craft Co-op has officially opened its doors at the Slacks Creek Progress Hall on Barbarella Drive.
The co-op consists of more than 15 makers who display their talent in the shop.
Members were housed next to Logan Central Library while renovations were being completed at the old Kingston Butter Factory.
However, hopes that they’d move back into the old premises were crushed when they were asked to tender for space.
The co-op has been closed since before Christmas, but the grand opening last week attracted people keen to see the quality work again on display.
“We had a good turn out, with many of our loyal customers and plenty of new ones,” secretary Jenny Pickvance said. “The community appears to be very pleased with what we have done at the Progress Hall and very happy to have a locally-made handcraft shop in the area.”
