One of the oldest homes in Tanah Merah has been newly renovated and is now ready for new owners.
Built in 1973, 61- 63 Sewell Road is a historic property with modern interiors. Since 2021, the last time it was on the market, the bathroom, living area, and kitchen have all been renovated without compromising any original charm or architecture.
Estate agent from Harcourts Living, Jill Carter, says the property’s unique look and desirable location have contributed to an influx of inquiries about the home.
“It’s very unique, in all the houses we’ve sold, it would be one of the most unique properties we’ve sold, and we’ve had a huge inquiry,” Ms Carter said.
“It’s got a very Tuscan kind of feel to it.”
The interest has mostly been from younger people looking for their first home, said Ms Carter. Many potential buyers have travelled from the inner city, drawn in by the home’s undeniable character.
“A lot of inner city people have come out to have a look, because it’s not the cookie-cutter house that you normally have.
“We’ve had a lot of young people come and have a look.
“They seem to be the kind of people who are looking for something they can grow a family in.
They’ve got the opportunity to have dual living down the back so you know, it’s got a lot of possibilities.”
There is no renovation work to be done inside the four-bedroom, two-bathroom property. But there is room for a granny flat in the backyard, which could support a dual living arrangement.
In a desirable location, Griffith University’s Logan Campus is merely one street away. A number of preschool, primary, and secondary schooling options within 4 kilometers of the home are ideal for young families.
Ms Carter said it is rare for a property as unique as 61-63 Sewell Road to be up for sale.
