Logan has born into challenging times. Starting its life as penal settlement which was closed in 1841, being left for squatters until the first leases of land were issued in 1849.
Transitioning into sugar from 1866 and then dairy from 1889, the region kept reinventing itself right through to the post-war development of the 1960s.
Today, we continue to face off against fire, flood and pestilence with the same spirit as those who came before us. We know hardship and are stronger for it.
Our business sector echoes this fighting spirit, working through the pandemic like every other challenge. We pull together and quietly push on.
Now, as the last whispers of Covid and the latest flu strain create their own challenges, we prepare to celebrate the survivors and thrivers.
The Logan Business Distinction Awards have become a milestone in our business calendar. A time to stop and consider our success in facing the latest challenges and acknowledge our part in our amazing Logan community.
Sadly, there are many businesses that are so focused on surviving that they don’t even know about the awards yet. That’s where you come in.
If you know a local business that deserves recognition, nominate them for a 2022 Logan Business Distinction Award.
Maybe they have gone the extra mile, or maybe they have just held on through the crisis. It could be a new business that has chosen to start despite the economic conditions.
Whatever sets them apart, we need to acknowledge them and include them in our celebration.
Nominations can be made online at www.LoganBusinessAwards.com.au or you can mail your nomination to PO Box 3378, Loganholme, 4129.
We need the business name and some way of contacting them. This can be a phone number, email or website. Let’s Celebrate Logan.
