Care & Lifestyle Expo brings services under one roof

Logan residents looking for aged care, disability support, community services or health providers will have the opportunity to connect directly with local organisations at the coming Care & Lifestyle Expo 2026.

The free event, organised by the Birch Foundation, will be held from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday 3 November at the Chambers Flat and Logan Reserve Community Centre at Chambers Flat.

The expo will bring together local service providers, charities, allied health professionals and community groups, giving attendees the chance to explore what support is available across the region.

Birch Foundation managing director Shone Benjamin said the expo was created with a simple purpose.

“The main goal of this expo is to connect [people to] the local community organisations around Logan,” Mr Benjamin said.

“We are a non-profit and we don’t do any of these services like NDIS or aged care. Our main goal is to connect people. That’s what we do.”

The expo aims to make finding support services easier by allowing residents to meet providers face-to-face rather than relying solely on online searches.

“Whether someone is looking for NDIS providers, aged care services, community support or allied health professionals, the expo is a great opportunity to meet local providers, explore available services and make meaningful connections,” Mr Benjamin said.

He believes personal interaction remains important when choosing support services.

“If you Google aged care providers, you’ll get 50 or 100 suggestions on Google,” he said.

“My main goal is for people to see face-to-face what’s available.”

The concept grew from conversations with people visiting the Birch Foundation’s community programs and op shop, many of whom were looking for guidance on available supports.

“People used to come to our op shop, older people, people with disability, the carers, they’re looking for different supports,” Mr Benjamin said.

“So the charity thought it’d be a good idea to start an expo.”

Beyond helping people connect with services, the event will also provide an opportunity for local organisations and businesses to showcase the support they offer within the community.

“We want to … help local businesses get the word out about what they do, even the charities or service providers,” Mr Benjamin said.

The expo is being delivered by the Birch Foundation, a local charity that supports people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and social isolation.

The charity also hosts community morning teas and support programs aimed at bringing people together and connecting those who may be feeling isolated.

Funds raised through exhibitor fees help support the foundation’s ongoing work.

“Whatever the fee they pay, it goes directly towards our charity, all the programs we’re doing,” Mr Benjamin said.

Mr Benjamin said the event was ultimately about helping people discover the support available right on their doorstep.

“Our aim is to bring the community together and help people discover the support and services available right on their doorstep,” he said.
