Cafe career kickstart

Locals aiming to kickstart their hospitality career with a paid traineeship and hands-on experience can head to Kingston East Neighbourhood Group’s (KENG) cafe in Loganholme.

The community group is co-running an 18-week, full-time program this July to prepare locals to work in restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafés, and catering operations.

Participants will leave the course with a Certificate I in Hospitality after learning the “ins and outs” of the industry.

Organisers are promising to equip students with all the essential skills needed to work in hospitality, including food preparation, customer service, and teamwork.

The program will be run at KENG’s recently opened social enterprise cafe in Tudor Park, offering students “the perfect environment to put their skills into practice in a real-world setting”.
