Budgie club celebrates 67th show

A carnival show will be thrown by one of the country’s biggest budgerigar clubs this October, right here in Logan.

The Australian Budgerigar Society was formed in 1957 and has since grown to more than 110 members.

The club is hosting its 67th Anniversary Carnival Show this October on Sunday 13th at the Beenleigh showgrounds hall.

In previous years, more than 600 people have attended the free event, which is kicking off at 9am.

This year there will over 30 displays ranging from arts and crafts to woodwork to plants, along with bird stalls and giveaways for children and families.

The club also hosts monthly meetings at 6.30pm on the third Friday of each month at its clubhouse – 1 Plantation Road, Beenleigh.

Meetings often feature discussions, guest speakers, and presentations, as well as table shows with great prizes awarded to the winners.
