Browns Plains teen among three charged over alleged break-ins

A 17-year-old Browns Plains boy is among three teenagers charged over a series of alleged break-ins across South Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Police allege the group was involved in multiple offences between 30 and 31 March, targeting homes on Skyview Avenue in Rochedale, Red Cedar Crescent in Calamvale and Redbud Lane in Robina.

The Browns Plains teenager faces 14 charges, including three counts each of robbery and dangerous driving.

He has also been charged with two counts each of attempted burglary and burglary, along with single counts of assault, trespassing, and causing damage.

He is expected to appear in Richlands Children’s Court today.

An 18-year-old man from Coomera has been charged with six offences, related to attempted burglary, attempted armed robbery, assault, dangerous driving, and causing damage.

He is expected to appear in Southport Magistrates’ Court today.

A 16-year-old boy from Coombabah has been charged with 14 offences, related to armed robbery, dangerous driving and attempted trespassing.

Police also allege he committed a further nine offences in South Brisbane in early December. He is expected to appear in Southport Children’s Court today.

Two other teenagers, aged 18 and 14, were arrested yesterday but released without charge.

Police say investigations are ongoing, with efforts continuing to locate two more teenagers allegedly involved.
