Branching out family fun

National Tree Day is on Sunday 30 July and to celebrate, Logan City Council are hosting a community planting event for the entire family.

The event will be held at Crestmead Park (35a Royena Court) on the Sunday, running from 8-10am.

The plan is to plant 1500 native plants to assist revegetation along the waterway at the park.

A free morning tea – BBQ sausage sizzle – will be provided, as will be the tools and equipment required for planting.

Participants have been encouraged to bring enclosed footwear, sun protection and water.

Since National Tree Day began in 1996, around 26 million trees have been planted, there have been around five million volunteers and over 10 million hours of time donated.
