Beenleigh shops added to exposure sites

Three venues have been added to Queensland’s exposure sites as a result of a truck driver being tested positive.

The driver, from Windaroo, went to the following venues:

  • Total Tools Beenleigh, 87 Logan River Road, from 9.20am until 10am on Sunday August 29
  • Beenleigh Marketplace Shopping Centre from 10.30am until 11.45am on Monday August 30
  • Stylish Nails, shop 11 beside Lowes, at Beenleigh Marketplace Shopping Centre, from 10.30am until 11.45am on Monday August 30

The visit to Total Tools and Stylish Nails has been identified as close contact, while the shopping centre visit is regarded as low risk.

Those who were at any of the venues are expected to be tested at one of the Covid testing sites.

At Beenleigh, Sullivan Nicolaides on City Road is a testing venue, as is Sullivan Nicolaides in George St. QML at Edens Landing is offering testing. There is testing at Logan Hospital and Authentic Church at Meadowbrook.

The Queensland Health website says: “When a contact tracing alert is issued, a venue may have to close for cleaning, and some staff may need to quarantine, but once that cleaning is complete they are able to re-open.

“If a business is open and trading it is safe to visit.”

In addition to these current exposure venues in Queensland, public health units will also contact affected businesses and households directly for contact tracing purposes.
