Police are investigating a series of armed carjackings across Park Ridge and Marsden after a knife-wielding man stole multiple vehicles on the night of 7 July.
The offences began about 8pm when an unknown man approached a 19-year-old woman at a service station on Chambers Flat Road, Park Ridge. He produced a knife and demanded her car keys.
The woman fled into the service station and was not physically injured.
The man then approached a 44-year-old man sitting in a silver Ford Falcon at the same location. He threatened the man with the knife and demanded he exit the vehicle. The man complied, and the offender drove the Ford towards Marsden.
At about 8.20pm, the stolen Ford was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Chambers Flat Road, Marsden. No one sustained serious injuries in the collision. The offender fled on foot.
Minutes later, at about 8.25pm, the man approached a 33-year-old sitting in a grey Nissan X-Trail in a shopping centre carpark on Chambers Flat Road, Marsden. He threatened the man with a knife and assaulted him before stealing the Nissan.
The 33-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Logan Hospital for treatment.
The offender remained outstanding as of the time of publication. Police have not released a description of the man.
The incidents unfolded along a stretch of Chambers Flat Road spanning both Park Ridge and Marsden, two suburbs within the City of Logan, within less than 30 minutes.
