I hope you’ll stick up for your people

I recently attend a graduation ceremony at the Twin Rivers Centre in Eagleby, and I found myself reflecting on the good fortune of the graduates, who are looking for jobs at a time when Australia’s unemployment rate is at its lowest level in more than a decade.

Testament to the value of the training the graduates received at Twin Rivers was the fact that so many of them have already secured jobs, including one young woman who was heading to her first shift on the day of her graduation!

These people are so lucky to be entering the workforce at a time when jobs are so plentiful.

A strong job market benefits all Australians and is a result of the hard work that our government has done helping the economy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is my belief that Liberal-National governments are the best at managing the economy, and that’s why it is imperative that we continue our stewardship in the years ahead.

Without such strong economic leadership and brave decision-making many Australians could still be suffering financially.

The message I delivered to the graduates is one that I think is important and applies to all of us, and that is never to forget your roots.

We should all be proud of where we came from, because this makes us the people we are today.

I am eternally grateful to have been raised in Logan and will always stick up for my region and its people. I hope you will do the same.
