ADF personnel and trucks roll in

Clean up efforts continue across Logan this week after the ADF rolled in their trucks late last week to help.

A 20-strong ADF crew, from Operation Flood Assist, helped clean 29 properties last Thursday and Friday and participated in the kerbside clean-up in flood-affected suburbs.

“These soldiers are really fit and able to do a lot of work in a short time, so it is very pleasing to have them on board,” mayor Darren Power said.

Slacks Creek was an area of focus, and six streets across the city remained closed on Friday.

“It was terrific to see residents come out and acknowledge the ADF presence,” he said.

The presence of ADF personnel and trucks allowed the kerbside clean-up to continue over the weekend in flood-affected suburbs.

It is expected the ADF will remain in City of Logan while there is a need.

The clean-up, repair and inspection of flood-impacted roads also is ongoing.
