It was a big day in the de Brenni household last Sunday.
Kristie and I were due for our Covid booster and Scarlette, 11, and Charlie, 8, had just become eligible to be vaccinated.
Scarlette was pretty excited about the process, and also keen to see some of her school friends at the clinic.
Charlie was a little less excited about the idea of a needle but decided it was better than a swab up his nose.
We chose Shailer Park Dental on Bryants Road. They take walk-ins for first, second and booster Pfizer doses – no booking required for adults.
Seeing the dentist can be a bit scary for kids, but Shailer Park Dental are known for having a warm and comforting environment and in vaccination clinic mode, they lived up to their reputation.
There was a festival-like vibe with music, outdoor fans to cool us down and even iceblocks afterwards!
Skilled nurses made sure the whole process was painless, and we were out the door in no time.
Shailer Park Dental stepped up to help out our community so that as many people as possible can access vaccination locally.
But that’s what we love about our Logan community right?
Everything we’ve done to battle the virus and keep each other safe – staying home, wearing masks, and now, vaccination – we’ve done together, for each other.
And now we’re turning out to do the same for our kids.
Making the move to get our kids vaccinated started by talking about it. We had the conversations, did the research and the science is very clear.
However if you’re unsure, your GP, your pharmacist, or any Queensland Health vaccination staff are all there to listen and help if you have any questions or concerns.
Stay safe everyone, and keep looking out for each other.
