Events on hold amid spread

A number of events, including the relaunch of Kingston Butter Factory, have been postponed as Covid cases continue to rise in the region.

Another big event to be postponed is the city’s annual Australia Day Awards and citizenship ceremony.

Both events are being planned for a later date, and winners of the Australia Day awards will be made public tomorrow on news and social media sites.

The KBF party was planned to celebrate the opening of the revamped cultural heartland at the Kingston Butter Factory.

Ticket holders to the event, which was to be held this Saturday, will be contacted directly and pre-booked tickets will be honoured on the rescheduled date.

The free community concert Song to the Earth, which was to be held on Saturday, February 12, has also been postponed.

The Milky Way Markets will continue to be once a month, and Devon Pixies tea house will be open Tuesday-Sunday.

Logan Recycling Market, which was due to re-open last Friday, will remain closed until further notice.

Council’s Customer Service Centres at Logan Central, Beenleigh and Jimboomba remain open, although residents are encouraged to make use of online services at this time.

Some operational changes are in place at Logan City Council’s Animal Management Service and some after-hours services have been stopped.

Mowing Mowing services are being delayed across the city following unprecedented impacts from wet weather and COVID-19. Council is aware of the issue and is working with staff to manage these impacts whilst working through the significant mowing schedule.
