Young job seekers get their chance to gain insights into their own future at IGNITE Youth Careers Expo on Tuesday July 27.
The free expo is at the Logan Metro Sports and Events Centre, 357 Browns Plains Road, Crestmead, from 9.30am until 5pm.
Governance chair Natalie Willcocks said the jobs expo was a must-do event for young people in the City of Logan.
“As a former teacher, I know how important events such as IGNITE are for students and young people,” Cr Willcocks said.
“I am passionate about seeing youth inspired to take the next steps on their learning or earning journeys, and that is what IGNITE is all about.”
Lifestyle chair Laurie Koranski said a range of new expo inclusions ensured the 10th IGNITE expo would be the biggest and best yet.
“This year, the event will offer six interactive zones including sessions on beauty, the STEM disciplines, cookery, gaming and music,” Cr Koranski said.
“Information on resume writing and taking professional headshots will also be available at our new expo zone, to help young career seekers learn how to present themselves in the best way.”
