Yes, we have a noise complaint.
Not large commercial aircraft, but light aircraft, almost every afternoon when I get home, and almost every weekend, there is a light aircraft flying over or around our place.
We have lived on our 4.5 acres for 20 years. I have made two complaints to air services Australia about the constant noise of low, very low flying planes.
And I was told that our local area is for flight training.
First that I have heard, no consultation, no letter, no news.
And as I result of my complaints, planes now criss-cross directly over our house and around a perimeter of approximately 1km.
So we are now in constant plane noise, and it’s a horrible low droning noise.
And of course they are flying slowly, so the noise is drawn out.
Yes, they go away for two minutes before another criss-cross and a few circles around our house. I’m sure I am not the only person with a complaint.
I will do a letterbox drop soon, once I have the council person responsible for complaints like this, I will let all know their contact details.
I have already sent an email to council about a noise complaint for the upgraded Waterford Tamborine road behind us.
It is a new section of road that was loud, and then they resurfaced it with very course aggregate, and is now much worse.
Why? I bet they say safety. It’s not the same either side of this section a few kilometres away.
Okay, so I have had my whinge. But its gotten to the point where I am wearing noise cancelling headphones outside, with music playing to calm me down, and knock out the traffic noise, but why should I have to?
