Waterford West man remains in induced coma, police charge Marsden man

A Marsden man, 29, has been charged with serious assault after an alleged fight broke out in a car park on Bourke Street in Waterford West.

Police allege that at around 4.20pm on Tuesday, 10 March, the Marsden man punched a Waterford West man, 48, in the face, causing him to hit his head on the ground.

The Waterford West man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. He remains in an induced coma, police said.

Police arrested the Marsden man at the scene. He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.

He is expected to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 11 March.
