Logan’s western suburbs recorded the highest number of new home build approvals in the state between 2024 and 2025, according to data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
The Jimboomba statistical area level 3 (SA3) classification, which is a geographical classification designed to make population surveys easier for analysts so they can see what is happening in certain areas, saw more than 1890 new free-standing houses approved to be built.
In total, there were 2072 dwellings approved to be built in the Jimboomba area.
That spans Logan Village, Flagstone, Riverbend, New Beith, Greenbank, North Maclean, Jimboomba, and Glenlogan.
That puts west Logan ahead of building approvals in Ipswich Inner (1887), Brisbane Inner (1865), Narangba – Burpengary (1767), and Caloundra (1535).
Statewide, 38,152 new dwellings were approved, with Jimboomba contributing to 5.4% of those new building approvals.
Logan City as a whole accounted for 10.76% of new dwelling approvals in Queensland from 2024-2025, approving 3418 new houses and 4107 total new dwellings.
In the individual SA2 classification areas, Greenbank-North Maclean outperformed the others, recording 690 new homes and 707 total dwellings.
Flagstone (West)-New Beith saw 434 new houses approved and 371 dwellings in total. 348 new houses in Yarrabilba were approved, with 371 new dwellings in total.
Browns Plains SA3 classification recorded the second-highest number of new homes and total dwelling approvals out of all Logan suburbs, with 869 new houses and 1063 total dwellings.
Within that area, Boronia Heights – Park Ridge recorded the highest new house approvals at 408, 452 total.
On the other end of the spectrum, Loganlea – Carbrook recorded the lowest approvals of total new builds at only 239 overall, including 100 new houses.
