A Yarrabilba boy, 17, has been charged following a “serious” crash at Beenleigh on 26 September.
Police said officers were called to James Street at about 8.30pm after reports a Holden Commodore hit two parked vehicles and a pedestrian on James Street.
The driver of the Holden, who police allege was a teenager from Yarrabilba, allegedly fled the scene on foot.
Police allege he was found a short distance away by members of the public.
The pedestrian, a 51-year-old Rathdowney man, was seriously injured to his leg and taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
“Police have since charged a 17-year-old Yarrabilba boy with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm,” police said in a statement.
He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court, 29 September.
Anyone who may have information, including relevant dashcam vision of the incident, to contact police.
