Three people were injured, one seriously, in a car accident on Waterford Tamborine Road in Buccan at around 2.40pm this afternoon (Wednesday, 24 September).
A car and a truck collided, according to police.
The driver of the small car was seriously injured in the accident and taken to the hospital by paramedics who worked for 45 minutes to free him from the damaged car, according to media reports.
A passenger of the small car and the driver of the truck were both taken to hospital in stable conditions.
Waterford Tamborine Road, between Dairy Creek Road and Stegemann Road, is closed in all directions according to police as of 4.50pm.
Police have advised road users to avoid the area or expect long delays.
