A street fight between two groups of young people over the weekend has injured four people, according to police and paramedics.
Paramedics say three people were hospitalised, including an 80-year-old woman with head injuries, a teenage girl with a head injury, and a primary school-aged child with chest injuries. A fourth woman, 34, was treated at the scene with an eyebrow cut.
A car was also damaged in the August 1 fight on Lamberth Road east, where police allege some of the young people carried bats.
According to a Queensland Police Service spokesperson, the car’s rear and side windows were “damaged.”
Police said they separated two groups of young people they allege were involved in the fighting, at around 10pm.
“Initial investigations indicate the disturbance stemmed from an ongoing dispute between parties known to each other, and no formal complaints have been made at this time,” police said.
