The tiny town of Woodridge, was heavily timbered then,
that’s going back, six score years and ten
we were just a stop-off, for coaches to the coast
water for the horses, folks got tea and toast
the country side remained, unchanged for many years
then all the crowds came and lots of land was cleared
gone were trees of old and the birds that they held
in their places homes were built where families could dwell
there’s been big improvements each and every year
in our parks and gardens the birds again we hear
planted seeds have grown, strong and tall and green
all our work rewarded beyond our wildest dream
Todays Logan locals, take a great big bow
we’ve grown up together, just look at us now
we’re building new forests and though there’s more to do
let’s be like the pioneers and stop…to have a brew
get the billy going mate let’s have a cup or two!
Paul Wincen,
Woodridge
