AT Y Schools Qld – Logan Campus, “we are a family”.
From the very first moment students step into our school, they are met with genuine kindness, compassion, and understanding.
This creates an environment where they truly become part of a close-knit community.
Dedicated staff are united in a mission to actively engage young individuals through inclusive and transformative education.
“We strive to foster connections, a sense of belonging, and personalised pathways for success, ensuring that every student thrives in their unique journey,” head of school Jacqueline Spurr says.
Y Schools – Logan takes pride in having The Y Trade Skills Centre on campus.
“In 2023 alone, we celebrated the achievements of 49 students who successfully completed courses of their choice and offered over 36 industry-exposure experiences to our students, supporting them to become empowered when choosing their career pathway,” Mrs Spurr says.
In addition to being a leader in Vocational Education, the school provides students with rigorous academic offerings aligned to the Australian Curriculum and Queensland Senior Syllabus.
Anchored in a shared belief in being grounded, centred, and present, the school’s teachers, staff, and students shape each day.
This unified approach sets the tone for collaborative learning experiences, where students actively contribute to a curriculum that is both student-led and relevant.
At the same time, it maintains integrity and aligns with overarching standards.
This holistic approach to education means that students, who previously may have been disengaged from schooling, attend regularly and engage in learning that is targeted to their abilities.
“We strive to empower our young people to be independent, courageous and resilient when they leave us, capable of achieving lifelong wellbeing,” Mrs Spurr says.
“All staff at the Kingston Senior campus are committed to ensuring our students achieve these goals through our pillars for success, focusing on student and staff wellbeing, teaching and learning, post school pathways, community engagement, and above all else, people.
“Like your family, our people are our priority. Beyond curriculum-based education, our passionate staff are devoted to providing personalised, wrap-around support that respects each individual’s unique story, fostering a healthy body, mind, and spirit.”
Guided by unwavering values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility, there is a collective belief in the transformative power of education to change lives.
With this shared conviction, the school aims to champion young people to not just succeed but truly thrive in all aspects of their lives.
“At Y Schools QLD – Logan, we believe in the power of inspired young people,” Mrs Spurr says.
“We relish the opportunity to walk beside our young people to ignite inspiration, facilitate transformation, and ultimately empower them to venture into the world with the confidence of assured success.
