Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic, families have flocked to west Logan seeking peace, quiet and plenty of elbow room.
The small suburb of Wolffdene epitomises that trend, according to local sales agent Samantha Spedding.
“We have found that since Covid there are a lot of families that don’t want to live so close to people, but still have access to all the creature comforts,” she said.
68 Colwill Crescent, for example, has all the “elbow room” one could want.
“The current owners have done a lot of work to it,” Ms Spedding said.
“It had wood-panelling everywhere, so now there’s brand new ceilings, they’ve given it a brand-new kitchen and a walk-in pantry, they’ve done all new plaster board and re-did the bathrooms.
“It’s like you’re buying a brand-new house.”
She said the views were “just spectacular”.
“I don’t think you can get views like that in any of the other houses where it is situated,” Ms Spedding said.
“The sunsets you get are just awesome, and you also get that view from the pool on the lower level.”
She said the home appeared small from the outside but was deceptively large.
“The house is really large – it’s one of those houses that looks like a single-story home from the outside, but on the inside, it goes on forever,” she said.
“And it has the self-contained unit underneath, which makes it great for extended family.
“We’re finding that most people are looking to buy with families – grandparents buying with parents and kids – and they want to get away from everything.
“They want elbow room.”
She said parts of Logan that once offered plenty of space, such as Yarrabilba, now had limited opportunities for space.
“The townhouses at Yarrabilba are so close you could literally ask for a cup of coffee and your neighbour could hand it to you through the window,” she said.
The current owners have lived at the 3ha Wolffdene property for nearly 17 years.
With five bedrooms, two bathrooms and almost 590sqm of indoor space, the owners are looking to downsize.
The property also boasts multiple sheds, a large carport, cleared garden space, and a media room that can double as a sixth bedroom.
“The home is close to everything – shops, schools and you are nine minutes from the M1 and Beenleigh train station,” Ms Spedding said.
“Coupled with all of that, you also have the elbow room not only within the house but around you.”
